Emerge 2012

Emerge 2012 was a great time. Below is a quick snapshot. Check out our Facebook page for pictures.

To start off the Emerge weekend a "spontaneous" flash mob (to the song "Barbra Streisand"), which the planning team had been busy working on for the month before, happened in the gym. It was a huge success and we received a lot of positive comments. Over the weekend we heard fantastic and motivational sermons by Storm Moore, Lee Primeau, Ty Ragan, and Alan Jones. We were led in times of intentional worship of our God by Jason Wood and crew. We broke into small groups, had times of recreation and of course times of fellowship over food.

Speaking of meals, "Thank you ABC alumni" for setting up and serving lunch Saturday afternoon. The burritos were delicious as could be seen by the empty tray at the end of the meal. Also thank you Eclair de Lune, a neighborhood pastry and catering business, for the delicious meal and dessert Saturday night. It was a joy working with you.

Congratulations to Erika Pagenkopf for winning the speech contest. Her presentation was well thought through, it connected with the audience, and she took a passage from the Old Testament and showed how it applies to today.

Some of the feedback we received was: One leader said they liked the new look of Emerge. Another leader complimented the quality of the four speakers and a guest from Lethbridge said, "This was the best weekend of her life" and that she is sold on ABC.

A thanks also goes out to Jeff Trost who made himself available to take pictures and video of the weekend and all its happenings. For in house there are so many students and staff to thank. From the leadership team that made this weekend happen to the students and staff who supported it by leading small groups, hosting visitors in their homes, mingling with the guests, and doing the behind the scene jobs that no one may have noticed.

And now the planning for Emerge 2013, happening March 1 to 3, begins. Stay tuned for more details.
